So taking a look at a new anime series called Date A Live for this second Spring season. If you didn't know, Date A Live is an anime adaptation from the visual novel game called Date A Live (yes, same name).
Unlike most anime in this echii, action, harem, and more randomness genre; episode one takes a leap to the really unexpected (which is somewhat a tad different). Our protagonist is a high school student living with his adorable little cute sister and is starting his new school year. But in this world he lives in, there are mysterious disastrous space storms occurring. Although he will find the cause why these mysterious storms are appearing all in episode one itself.
Space storms, girls, possible harem, Sci-Fi, action, echii and more? If you like those things, this anime will probably be good for you. As for myself, I think it's alright and quite decent so far since I watch these type of anime usually anyway. In conclusion, it's looking good and I hope they don't abuse the echii stuff like Highschool DxD which I dropped.
So I recently took some time checking this anime out and thought this anime was going to be just like the usual harem anime I usually see (but with brother complex). And guess what, it is very horrible...
On the very first episode, there seems to be an innocent little girl doing peaceful things and then all of a sudden - her voice tone changed and she randomly became a "mature" high school girl when she re-united with her older brother. I was like: "What the heck!?!?".
Another complain is that the candidates showing up out of nowhere all at once. It's just not like they show up one by one and how the protagonist meets them. But sure, the creators did show some details on how they met but it was "minor" to the point that there's not one bit of "slice of life".
In conclusion, I don't get the story whatsoever and I'm dropping it (since watching around the third episode) even though I'm an echii/harem/other fan. The visual novel itself may be better than the anime but I'm not going to check that out either.
Oh wow, what the heck did I watch? I mean this anime somewhat reminds me some of my life during high school back then! Never mind me but this anime is pretty much about somewhat nice disabled students living in a dorm building together and our protagonist is a normal student that got stuck there for a funny reason.
So before I started to watch, I thought this anime will turn out to be a typical slice of life comedy with generic stuff and such. Then it didn't turn out like that and I just like how the creators fit in the random echii events in there and the characters introduced are very interesting so far. Anyway, so far so good and I can't wait for the next episode. This anime is a bit similar to Katawa Shoujo visual novel as in the disabled genre, by the way.
Conclusion: Funny awesome series and I definitely can't wait for the next one. Setting, story and characters are quite interesting.
Note: There's other anime first episodes I watched for this Fall season but didn't have the time to post about them. I might post up soon for the second episodes. As for Sword Art Online, I didn't have any thoughts much and thought it was just pretty okay.
So okay, in the beginning, it looked like some video game. Anyway, this series is definitely way better than Upotte!!. Though the thing I don't really get is that the time and setting is not really explained. Is it around in World War II or somewhere near the present or the past?
Another thing is how the series explains why there are random school girls in Axis tanks which seems to be randomly ridiculous. Are they even being trained for some war or to be a good woman is to drive a random Axis tank? Other than the story and settings, there's also seem to be too much slice and life drama or just over. Wrapping things up, I'll probably watch the next episode and see.
Conclusion: Weird setting/story and might probably continue to watch it.
Okay, what? I thought I saw To Love-Ru Darkness OVA episode 1 about a month ago? There must be a miss-label or something.
So this series basically follows the story just like the manga. If I'm not mistaken, things will get really dark and echii since I read the manga. But the nice thing is about this series, it focuses on some heroines named Momo, Golden Darkness(the assassin) and along with a new character which the OP is probably spoiling to you. Also, they might focus on the action just like the manga itself. Though the unfortunate thing about this series is that it's an "OVA" type.
Other than that, the series re-introduces what the main story left off and it isn't that bad. To wrap things up, this anime is definitely on my watch since I watched the previous seasons and I like echii.
Conclusion: Definitely on my watch list since I watched the previous seasons...
My first thought after watching the episode was basically the opening (OP). It kinda reminds me something like the Ef: A Tale of Memories OP which is all English (besides the Japanese version that the song has). Anyway, the series overall seems to also be a good one especially showing a lot of action and mystery theme. The starting of the story introduced the main plot between the two protagonists that the series will follow. They both look cool so far to me at the very least. So other than that, there's not much to say and hopefully the second episode will turn out good.
Conclusion: Another nice action series for this Fall season.
Whoa, K looks a promising series. The thing I find very quite funny is those "cleaner bots". They just say hilarious short comments and you should probably pay attention on them in the beginning of the episode.
Other than the bots, the action looks cool and the creators didn't really use those 3D computer generated graphics which is also known as "CG" or any other term you might want to call it. The characters look cool so far but I can't tell who's the good guys and bad guys besides the protagonist because the episode didn't explain anything yet on what's going on. Besides that, the graphics are up to date and seems pretty just like Guilty Crown (I don't like that series by the way). So in conclusion, another anime series that seems to be worth watching this season.
Conclusion: Nice episode so far and can't wait for the next.
So okay, what the heck did I watch? This short shorts series is just plain horrible. What are the creators thinking? Are they trying to copy Hello Kitty or some other kid show? It's even getting my eyes blinded!
Also, I find the series abusing senseless "random" (including trying to be cute) way too much. Sure, random may be a good thing in some occasions but this doesn't really add up with this series. Whoever created this series should probably go watch other shorts on YouTube/NicoNico or somewhere else to get a way better idea - hopefully...
Conclusion: One of the worst series for this season so far. Dropping it for now.
If you haven't heard yet, there's a new recent service to watch English dub anime for Play Station 3 called Neon Alley (by VIZ Media). It is only available for the United States and Canada. The monthly fee is $6.99 with limited advertising/commercials.
Also, there's a free week trial for those who want to try out this service and sign up on their official website. Now here's the launch trailer.
Oh sweet! There's finally a new season for this anime. So the first thing that went into my mind is that Maria spoke English at the phone (yes, that's right, she spoke English!). I can't really remember the last time one of the characters was speaking in "English".
So it looks like this series is very promising and not just that, the creator himself is directing this season - personally. So this makes this long waited season really promising, indeed. Other than mentioning the creator, more characters in the manga are getting introduced in the anime which is great. In conclusion, nice enjoyable episode.
Conclusion: Nice enjoyable episode for this season.
